Tie-dyed hair
Here's Jessica Simpson at this year's MTV Movie Awards. 
Notice the gradual change in color towards the ends of her hair. I'm not into matching your hair color to your dress (which I think might have been the idea here), but using a temporary color to sort of tie-dye the ends of your hair is kinda cool--something fun for a night out. If you can still find Color Pulse mousse, you could use that. Or go to a beauty supply store and browse the temporary color section. Roux makes liquid temporary colors that might do the trick.
